Abstract

This regular section presents two new mathematical problems for readers to solve independently and also publishes solutions to problems from a previous issue. The new problems concern a geometric dissection of a triangle and an algebraic problem involving the roots of a cubic equation. The solved examples include a problem on placing a cube net into a rectangle and a combinatorial problem about arranging desserts around a round table. The section encourages active reader participation and illustrates various forms of mathematical reasoning, from geometry and algebra to combinatorics.
