Abstract

The article summarises and classifies polynomial problems that have appeared in the Mathematical Kangaroo competition over a period of thirty years. The selected problems cover algebraic manipulation, basic identities, relations between roots and coefficients, divisibility of polynomials, and other topics from secondary-school algebra. The examples are accompanied by solutions and comments. The text shows that competition problems can be used not only for practising standard curriculum content, but also for enrichment, work with talented students, and preparation for the school-leaving examination.
